It’s a bank holiday Monday, and the promoters of the Arctic Monkeys gig at Ashton Gate have taken full advantage of this, with doors to the gig opening at 5pm. Obviously it makes sense for Maddie and Chris and I to eat dinner somewhere on North Street, but the problem is it made sense for everyone else, too. Luckily, Maddie found us Yofa, an excellent falafel place that rivals, if not quite beating, Eat A Pitta for the crown. The service is a bit slow (but it’s a very busy day) and the portions are maybe a little undersized for what you’re paying, but at the same time, the pour of my chocolate and banana milkshake was very generous indeed, so who’s to say. We have a number of small plates, from some hummus and falafel to halloumi skewers, some chips to round it off. They are generally pretty good. The falafel isn’t Eat A Pitta, of course it isn’t, but is still enjoyable. There are no dessert options, and we sense that staying much longer isn’t going to help them, so we make a move down to Ashton Gate nice and early, with a new Bedminster plan B up our sleeves for the future.
