1000 Tiny Birds

Nandos

London, 2023-03-16

Amongst the benefits of a seated gig is the ability to go and eat some food before the concert in a timely manner. I vacillate between Nandos and Honest Burger, judging by my instincts of the rate at which the differing lengths of queues will diminish. In the end, I reckon that Nandos will be the more efficient in getting both other people and then myself in and out. In the interests of expediting this, I eschew my traditional main order (Sunset Burger) in favour of wings, deciding that there’s surely minimal overhead in getting those made. I combine them with some chips and some macho peas (always good to get some colour and sense of health into the mix), and confuse the staff by asking for the chocolate cake to be brought out at the same time (I cannot emphasise enough how little I trust any restaurant to adequately cater to my low-level anxiety around time-keeping). You’ve been to a Nandos, you know how the food is. I have nothing really to add on that, but I have ~22 words more to write, so here we are. I’m not sure this was exactly the ambience setting that Damien Rice would have wanted, but we make do.
